They haven't known each other for long, but Mia already sees in Diamond a cavalier spirit and a determination to keep people from worrying over him. Both of which could land him in some trouble. His Pokemon friends seem to pick up on that and are willing to keep him out of too much danger, and she knows that even though he's causing himself more inconvenience by hiding things, his intentions are good and he just wants to keep the stress off of others.
