Perhaps the most out of all of her Luceti friends and companions, Kurt feels like a member of her back-home traveling party: someone to rely on no matter what the circumstances, who knows what to say and when to say it most of the time, and never lets her take herself too seriously. Their relationship is what she imagines having a brother (or a non-evil close cousin) would feel like. At their first-first meeting she developed something of a crush on him, but it faded with time; if anything, the recent Valentine romance experiment only served to make her feel closer to him in a family sense. (Though she also wonders 'what if' sometimes.) It worries her that he keeps calling himself 'the fuzzy guy' in a somewhat derogatory context (like "not bad for a fuzzy guy"), because it says a lot about what he thinks of himself under the jokester persona, and that isn't what she sees at all.

Aang

Aang harbors a kind of wide-eyed desire for everything to be okay of which Mia is rather jealous. Though he struggles with the line between choices sometimes, he seems very dedicated to doing the right thing even when that is not the easy thing; the importance he places on others' opinions of his actions weighs him down. He and Mia have been able to mutually steer each other back on course when things go off-center. She is very grateful for his simple and uncluttered enjoyment of things, too.

Jade

Nephry's brother, her only family and the person who knows her (almost) every weakness, is the most complicated relationship she has now. After several appearances and disappearances on his part, she's settled to the idea that he might not stay long, and so she should treat him the way she ought to have from the start (and hope that he might learn by example). At the same time, she knows he could be a lot of trouble if he had a mind to, and what does she make of the streak of him that enjoys doing things just to see what reactions other people have to them? However, she is no longer afraid of him the way she once was, and even his skill at manipulating words is less daunting. She was very surprised to find herself controlling the conversation when he first arrived. It gave her a bit of insight into how easy it must be for him, as the one who usually holds all the information and throws it out to trip people up, and also let her see herself making the other choice: to back off and not 'go for the kill' as her dear brother might.
