20) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?:
After the second round of possession and molting, her wings are now something of these colors, the aqua blue fading with the cream being at the tips.
For the most part, they're kept carefully tucked under her robes or a cloak, to keep them out of danger. When she's in ruin mode they tend to fluff out a bit more and get a lot brighter. So not many would be aware of this change yet.
21) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?:
Physically she looks the same due to being a half-elf. Otherwise, her hair is longer in the winter months, and she keeps it trimmed during the spring/summer.
22) What do they miss the most from home?:
Genis, though that goes without saying. Lloyd, Colette, Presea, even Zelos. The ruins, the nostalgia that Heimdall brought... the lack of real closure from her mother issues. The archeology, her artifact hoard ... She misses her little house too, and Iselia, and her students. Being able to visit home, even though it was not something she had signed up for, played a part in reminding her of the world and what's waiting for her.
23) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?:
Her writing is very clear/neat when she's in a business/teaching type mindset - she did have to write a guide after all. When she's not business-writing it's more... flowy, like. More natural. Her writing tends to sound more formal, but there's no real difference otherwise.
When she shifts to ruin mode, her writing gets excited and jumbled and difficult to follow. And there are hearts.
24) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?:
She generally seems very calm, and serious, but those who get to know her may see other sides, even some teasing. Anyone who doesn't know her well would probably think of her as cold at first, but off the journal's there is definitely more warmth in her interactions, unless she's strictly being professional -- or trying hard to not have others worry for her. She puts up a front most of the time in this regard.
25) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?:
One of her personal goals was to go traveling with Genis to try to find acceptance for half-elves. In Luceti there never seemed to be a reason for that to come up, so it was easier for her to "hide in plain sight", though she's been trying to make amends to that goal, slowly. It's just a matter of finding the courage to go ahead with it. In the meanwhile there's dealing with the Mithos problem.
And of course, an ever goal remains to be learning more about the situation and finding the best way to handle it, which means remaining ever open for new possibilities.
26) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?:
It's a mixture of both, so she's been able to adjust. She lived most of her life in a non-technological world but always was brilliant at understanding technology even though she never remembered living with it. And the technology that they're provided with in the village is small fry compared to others she's experienced. It's different, but that's about it. Not complicated. Domestic appliances gave her some trouble at first.
27) FOR STUDENTS: What is their favorite class? What is their least favorite class? What about their general behavior in school?:
Her students may find her to be either calm or intense depending on the lesson! For example, anything involving history might invoke ruin mode. Considering it's Luceti, she's much more laid back than she ever would have been in Iselia.
28) FOR DRINKERS: What is their favorite drink? What is their least favorite drink? Do they prefer Good Spirits or Cloud Nine? What's their attitude about and while drinking?:
Not a drinker, but she has poked into Good Spirits on very, very few occasions. She's starting to favor cosmos with a lemon twist.
29) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?:
- She is a prodigy - She is a healer - when she's in her ruin mania, she dispenses knowledge of anything historical and can list off references at the drop of a hat. (also, terrible recipe ideas.) - She has a knack for figuring out technological things as well as complicated puzzles - Her healing abilities. Also on the list are basic magic skills from her world that she's had knowledge of but never focused extensively on until Luceti.
30) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti? If so, what are they? Why and how?
- Filial magic skills, though that needs to be updated. She has made contact with every spirit and uses time to practice her magic abilities and add the filial magic to it. She's also interested in learning other skills if possible. - increased medical knowledge under Dr. McCoy (he considered her training complete) - improved cooking/housework ability (Sanji's lessons, and Albert's... persistence) - studying saidar with Moiraine - getting comfortable with water abilities (Katara) - studying weather patterns and predictions (Nami instruction)
31) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting?
For draft situations, Raine does her best to aid others in preparations. She spends a lot of time making specialized kits that contain various quick and easy healing supplies, mostly for not wanting them to immediately resort to the filial magic and bring down shift hunters on them as a result. (That and healers can't always be there in the mix of things)The kits are intended to be small and easy for anyone to carry.
She fights when necessary or if she ends up in a bind, and she has the strength and magic to hold her own against ordinary soldiers; but the more numerous and powerful ones will give her trouble. She's better at long-range magic/support than close combat, given her weapon of choice. She is willing to kill.
32) What kind of habits do they have on missions? What is their reason for going on them? What do they intend to use their points for?
The points are generally saved until a good use can be found for them. Depending on the mission, her habits are similar; gather as much information as possible, if she's with a person, make sure that they're prepared, and so forth. It's business.
33) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?:
Five years, as of March 4th.
She's experienced a lot in these past few years, and has found herself far more vulnerable than she'd ever like to be. She's gone from periods of extreme stress and overworking (a result of losing her brother and her memories and just finding something to focus on obsessively) to eventually taking a more resigned approach, notably because of Albert's influence.
She's become rather protective of certain residents, and there are a lot that she's come to care about. It pains her to see them go, or to return without their memories, and it's something she'd like to change, if she had the resources. She still wants to learn more about the situation itself - studying the information they gather and waiting for new opportunities.
34) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft?
Most end of drafts have resulted in either a long hot shower or a long, long night's sleep. She's been better about giving herself breaks on occasion, although sometimes her initial reaction is to give herself some manner of distraction. The same with experiments, depending on the sort of recovery that's needed. Sometimes a nice ride on Astrid does wonders for familiarity and clearing the mind.
35) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked?
All of her kidnappings were pretty bad, but the one ranked as the worst kidnapping could be the one that happened during the week of Halloween, 2010, because afterward she was in great pain for a couple of months and could not use her artes.
The worst shift experience she's ever had was getting sick and dying from a plague that ravaged nearly two thirds of Luceti's population in her very first month of arriving. Other experiences have been bad, but dying of an illness where you literally feel like you're being boiled to death internally is going to top the list, no matter how humiliating other experiences were. Not that the Halloween experiences were a walk in the park either.
And no, she didn't like any of them. Some are more manageable than others.
