...star-crossed non-lovers?

Buffy is like a kind of awesome big sister figure. Not the one you grew up with, but that one that was too old to ever be annoying for you and now lives on her own and drives you around getting you milkshakes and taking you to movies. Like on TV. That's what Buffy is like for Sokka, only without the driving around. She's someone he can be himself around and say whatever it is that pops in his mind.

But okay for her and Ed, I think.

Sokka couldn't be happier with Suki. It makes being in Luceti no big deal, because even with the bad, he always has her around. She's not just the girl he loves, but she's family. He can't imagine being without her. The only downside, of course, is the constant worry that one day she won't be there. He's not sure how he'd move on from that. But they're able to get on so well together, with some playful back and forth banter, that she's not just his girlfriend, but also his best friend.

With Ed, Sokka sees him as kind of a friend, but one with who it isn't easy to get along with. But Sokka generally has a hard time getting along with other guys his own age. Kind of a competitive streak there, I guess. It's there with Ed too, but I don't think it bothers him much here. Possibly because he's seen Ed at his most vulnerable, so he doesn't feel the need to 'prove' himself to Ed. So he's pretty glad to have him as a teacher.

Sup.

Shiki and Sokka are a kind of interesting relationship, especially since they sort of rely on each other to be fairly sensible. They've both been in Luceti for awhile and 'around the block' so to speak. Having briefly been Shiki's 'housemate' in an unorthodox way, he considers himself pretty close to her and he pretty much knows all her secrets now. Between all that and her being his first and only regular 'student', he's pretty protective of her now. She's one of his girls.

Well they've only had their one meeting, so Sokka finds Varric a pretty interesting and amusing guy, but he's also really curious about why he's so short. Bianca is a piece of art and even though Sokka doesn't really do well with bows and crossbows, he finds the weapon... interesting. An interesting duo. He will be interested to know more.

Despite their ONE conversation, Sokka actually likes Yun. Even if she ignored all his advice and probably got herself horribly mauled by a bear. But while she was still alive, he liked her spunk! She seemed pretty young, but he thinks she's pretty mature for her age. If she survive her horrible ordeal, he wouldn't mind another chat.

Hiccup is cool now, right?

Hiccup isn't cool at all. But Sokka thinks he's alright. He reminds him of a younger, geekier Sokka. They aren't super close or anything, but Hiccup is a guy after his own heart and that's something he can definitely appreciate. He just feels like maybe he needs to help Hiccup toughen up a bit.
