Ed on Ling and Sokka

Ling is in that weird limbo-land, friendship-wise, for Edward. On one hand he wants to be friends - because now that he's starting to actually get guy-buds his own age, he's warming up to the idea - but on the other hand he can't help but wonder if Ling takes him all that seriously. The visit with him and Ran Fan helped, when Trisha went home, so he's starting to feel better about it. The problem is that Ling's troll attitude clashes with Edward's temper, so Ed tends to feel unbalanced around him. He's working on trying not to overreact to every little thing that Ling says or does, though, so things are improving at least? |D;; For what it's worth, he does/i> consider Ling to be a friend, and a close and dependable one at that (especially now that he's experienced the Promised Day), just... a weird one. It's funny that he's thinking that way, actually, since Greed's presence was way more prominent than Ling's in that 21 hours.

As for Sokka, he's weird too 8| Edward doesn't take him very seriously, probably because he hasn't seen Sokka many serious situations. The draft comes to mind, actually- that was basically the only time I can remember... it's not really that he disrespects Sokka, though, since... that's not unusual, rofl. Ed kind of disrespects everyone. He can tell that Sokka has a lot of natural talent, but Ed's wary of that, because hell, he had that too, and look how he turned out. So in that sense he's a reluctant teacher, and he's following Izumi's footsteps by not being too forthcoming about his experiences and therefore what he knows about more advanced stuff. To be honest, he's grateful that Sokka's taken such an unorthodox interest in the use of alchemy, even if... well, like I said. It's weird. D| He could probably get closer to Sokka eventually, but they clash often so he figures Sokka isn't interested anyway.
