Kida on Sokka?

Masaomi is hutthurt.

...Okay no he actually respects Sokka and genuinely wants to have his approval because of that fact. It's partially just that Katara seems family oriented and he's family, but it's also that if he's an undependable guy that means, naturally, that other men in her life (like Sokka) are dependable ones. Which is a big part of the defensiveness and evasiveness at play in the burrito thread. However, his trip in the mountains has revitalized/frustrated him enough that we got that follow up thread we're still doing: he doesn't want to be seen as the inferior self he's thought himself to be already. Which doesn't have a ton to do with Sokka, but the guy's symbolic of it in the same way his hair color was.
