Helios is...kind. Giving, to a fault. I do not understand him half of the time but, I've come to accept that I do not need to understand him to live with him, or befriend him.

There are things he has endured I will never know about in full, and I will not ask after again. I am more than a little ashamed I was so blunt with him that day; how he chooses to live, how he chooses to cope is his business and I have no right to say anything more on the matter.

Do I wish there was something I could do to better help him cope? Yes. He is too gentle to be so afraid; too generous to be so withdrawn. He knows I am available to speak if he wishes it- or to cook if he likes.


But no more magic candy. Ever.
