Any friend of the Captain's is cool in his book, honestly. It's how he hasn't flipped out on or flirted with Grell yet. Lupin is also honestly intrigued that there's another person in the village with similar problems as his that has latched onto Smoker.

He also wouldn't mind having more drinks or mellow conversation with Ikki. He collects mellow people, especially if they're not overtly talkative. People like that are good for him.
