Previously he kept Nami at merely an acquaintance since the family experiment soften him up a little. Though he still wasn't holding back on being a jerk to her. He told himself he would never go so far as to befriend others, as he just found it pointless in a place like this.

Although after the whole Valentine's incident with Bellemere, he --although he won't exactly openly admit it or believe it himself yet-- seems more willing to start over and properly get to know Nami. He'll likely be more friendly towards her with fewer hostilities overtime should nothing cause a wall between them.
