You should know by know of the incident of Trafalgar Law. It's because of it Daisy still feels indebted with Marco to this day, and moreso with the constant help -and recently friendship- he gave her.

In spite of the indoctrination given to the SPARTAN-II to hate pirates, smugglers, and insurrectionists, some of them did not feel they were a true threat in comparison to what the Covenant would end up being -part of the reason Gold Team participated in an uprising without the intention of joining the Insurrection-. In some cases, while they still grew to dislike people from these factions, they were aware that these three sides were the (perhaps inevitable) result of a flawed colonial doctrine that would get people up in arms against the Inner Colonies.

Daisy's introduction to the pirates of Luceti was easy because of a loophole in the laws of the Colonial Administration Duty and of the United Nations Space Command: They were not pirates to her world. Since none of them posed a real threat, she was willing to work, and even talk with them: Nami, Monkey D. Luffy, Trafalgar Law, and eventually this person.

While she may not be too driven towards the way of life of pirates nor of rebellion (too accustomed to military life for that), Daisy likes Marco, and the knowledge that he's not only from Keimi's world, but a close friend of hers, let the Chief Petty Officer trust him a lot. She still feels indebted -- moreso with seeing him as a close friend that seems to love combat just as much as her.


NOTES:

Tread damned lightly with this one. Daisy has gotten too fond of him, and the UNSC does not take kindly of pirates nor insurrectionists.

We were afraid this girl would turn into a sympathisant along with Gold team like it would eventually happen with Soren-066. If this man comes in here knowing of the SPARTAN-II Project, and he in turn influences her too much, we'll have a lot of trouble in our hands.
