Once upon a time, Walter tolerated Grune a little better than he did other Orerines; while annoyed by her obliviousness, he found it preferable over the consciously-annoying behavior he'd encountered from Senel's other friends. Walter's encounter with the real Grune has soured his opinion of her; knowing she is just as judgmental as the others has left him with little regard for her, Orerines or not Orerines.

...Sigh, Walter. And this after Grune made the effort to listen and understand him. I think things would have gone better if Grune had had the chance to make her own points...but then again, maybe not.

Well, I'm halfway through writing the letter she would have left him before losing her memories again, so maybe that will patch things up between them. ...Anything's possible?

Sorry I didn't respond to your comment on my HMD; I'm veeeery slow at getting around to anything right now. But since I got a fresh, new e-mail about this comment, I thought I'd try to get some thoughts down...

First off, yes, I totally found Grune and Walter's conversation interesting -- a little intense (especially trying to get into Walter's head about it), but definitely interesting. I still think that they have the potential to actually get along, but Walter's got to come to terms with ... you know, accepting them. (He accepted Senel, so it is possible. He just has absolutely no one he likes from their world here right now, so he's very :| about everything Melfes-related.)

Oh, and thank you for your absolute patience with my slow tags. Even though the thread didn't go for very long, it was great to have that development. (I'm actually surprised the thread went as long as it did, with Walter incensed so early in the conversation.)

Oh, no worries. As you can see, I'm not exactly the fastest right now, either. :D;;

Yeah, I can imagine it was pretty damn intense for you! Less so for me, because True!Grune tends to do the detachment thing a lot, so yeah. It would be really cool if they did get along (although the pretty damn tragic at the same time), but I'd say that's pretty far in the future at this point.

It was my pleasure! And actually, I needed a lot of time in between each one to figure out what she would say and how she'd say it, because what is playing an immortal. XD;; (Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised he stuck around for as long as he did, too.)
