Sapphire -> Raine

1) Height: 5'5

2) Weight: 108 lbs

3) Eye color/Hair Color: Blue eyes, pale silver/white hair

4) Age: 23 +4 luceti years = 27

5) Physical features: Appearance wise, she's very youthful looking, as if she's in her early twenties at the most, despite her mature behavior and hair color. Her hair is always covering her ears, to hide that they're subtly pointed. She's pale, slender, and others tend to comment on her physical beauty.

6) Voice: Here. More emotion (it's possible) here. And for ruin mode (mildly, anyway), here.

7) Who do they live with and how are chores divided in their house/apartment?:

Her housemates are Albert and Caesar! The tasks are typically spearheaded by Albert. Raine's learned to get better at household chores over time under his instruction, in spite of her hilarious packrat/hoarding tendencies in her own space. The house tends to be neat anyway.

Her brother Genis handled most of this at home (where he's said that she wasn't able to even do laundry without his help).

8) Their favorite foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?:

Raine doesn't have particular "favorites" when it comes to foods, since her brother spoiled her by turning out to be a good chef, not to mention the years of not really knowing where a meal would come from, so more of just coming to accept that and becoming used to not eating that often anyway unless prompted. Though if she had any significant preference, it probably would be for lighter meals, like chicken, salad, miso soup, stirfrys and spiced dishes - but her signature cooking ingredient is lemon--though she favors other citrus fruits as well, as she learned from a young age that citrus is healthy and keeps other fruit from spoiling.

She usually doesn't cook, but she's been getting more competent at things like basic meals -- sandwiches and so forth, but she's far from ever being a primary chef in any household.

That said Albert handles the brunt of the cooking in #42, though Raine tries her hand here and there when it's allowed or on spare occasions.

9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: :

When school is in session, she teaches (roughly from 9:00ish-2:30 pm, from Monday to Thursday).

She works in the flower shop during her off hours or whenever she's feeling inclined (earlier in the day on fridays and saturdays, later hours during the week), and her tasks include tending to the available plants, categorizing new seeds that may have been found, among other things.

She helps Law when needed with his medical lessons at the Battledome, and sometimes assists at the clinic when they're understaffed.

On Sunday mornings she attends Sanji's cooking lessons.

Aside from that she typically finds ways to keep herself occupied in some form. She usually keeps an eye out on the journals, takes notes of various things (experiments, climate changes, etc) that go on in Luceti, spends some time at the stable (and may or may not have a ride, with Noishe or with Astrid). She often spends time between visiting the tea shop, library and other shops, on any given afternoon when there's time, not to mention looking in on the people that she's friendly with.

She reads a lot in her spare time, as well as draws, paints or practices her magic. In the warmer weather she takes longer walks and an occasional jog. Mostly she focuses her attention to the herbs and vegetables outside her house.

10) Their general sense of fashion:

Raine usually attempts to be fairly practical when it comes to clothing, mostly because she's used to having to be prepared for travel at a moment's notice. Most of her clothing is sensible, but often loose-fitting. Shirts, and pants, and even rarer, skirts on occasion. Whatever the outfit, she usually is wearing her robes over them (although she has a few variations of them by now with assistance of Shiki). In colder months she will wear a coat or a cloak, or both.

She usually has a pair of thin gloves on her hands. Sometimes she changes out her usual white boots for brown or black ones that are, well, less unique, and when it comes to fancy occasions, she still has this number tucked away somewhere.

Bonus beach-wear here.

11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?:

- Most of her hobbies have been tied to creativity and her ruin mania personality - searching for artifacts, studying history, hoarding items, reveling in it, but in Luceti she has very few chances for that.

- She's always had reading as a hobby.

- ... and cooking. Badly. In Luceti however she has made progress on this, once her creativity is kept out of it, and even friends from home might be able to comment on the improvement.

- in Luceti she has added sketching and painting (at some insistence by housemates/friends, to try and give her something to do away from her work obsession which was consuming her in previous years). Her art varies on her state of mind; she usually leans toward a more creative aspect though, much like her cooking, but she can focus on intricate details as well.

- She also has a green thumb given that her house back home, despite being rather small, has houseplants all over it. In Luceti, she has been focusing more on that these days as well, even moreso when she tends the herbs and vegetables outside her house and often spends time at the flower shop.

12) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?:

Raine is... much more accepting of possibilities happening in Luceti than she ever has been at home. It's probably due mostly to the fact that it's overflowing with different people, and different cultures and new ways of thinking, as well as considerable influence from the journey. She tries more now to look for the possibilities in things instead of outright shutting it down -- of course, she's still pragmatic and holds back on some things. Though it's ironic that newer acquaintances have found her to seem optimistic -- most of her friends from home would not have thought her to be as such.

13) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?:

She favors rods (or staffs or wands, however they're referred to), and usually carries one around with her at all times. Her current one is topped by a large red sphere encasing a ruby.

14) Who are their neighbors?:

Residents of house #40 (Yuri Nakamura, Ayato Naoi, Yotsuba Koiwai), house #50 (Okita Souji, Yamazaki Ayumu, Homura, Hijikata Toshizou), and Community Building #7. There isn't interaction between them, save that she goes to house #40 to bring Yotsuba to school with her.

15) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what?

Her closest friend is Sheena. They've experienced a lot inside of Luceti which went beyond what they experienced in their own world.

She would likely rank Albert up here, even if he wouldn't do so himself. She is hesitant to do the same with Jack, given certain factors.

The trouble is defining where the student/acquaintance line ends and where the friendship one begins. There are a number of people she does care and look out for, and would go out of her way to help.

16) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?:

The school, flower shop, tea shop and library. Lately she's just been enjoying the area outside her house. Even though it is a little noisier with the community building so nearby. She has a soft spot for Taichi's old treehouse as well, though with him gone it is mostly fallen to disrepair.

17) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?:

Her wings are colored like her hair, but seem to have a touch of lavender when the light shines on them a certain way. For the most part, they're kept carefully tucked under her robes or a cloak, to keep them out of danger given how often she's been attacked. When she's in ruin mode they tend to fluff out a bit more and seem brighter.

18) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?:

Her hair is longer in the winter months, and she keeps it trimmed during the spring/summer. Aside from that, she doesn't really change at all save when she's ill or recovering.

19) What do they miss the most from home?:

Genis, though that goes without saying. Lloyd, Colette, Presea, even Zelos. The ruins, the nostalgia that Heimdall brought... closure from her mother. The archeology, her artifact hoard ... She misses her little house too, and Iselia. Being able to visit home, even though it was not something she had signed up for, played a part in reminding her of the world and what's waiting for her.

20) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?:

Her writing is very neat when she's in a business/teaching type mindset - she did have to write a guide after all. When she's not business-writing it's more... flowy, like. More natural. Her writing can sound more formal, but no difference otherwise.

When she shifts to ruin mode, her writing also gets excited and jumbled and sloppy.

21) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?:

She generally seems very calm, and serious, but those who get to know her may see other sides, even some teasing. Anyone who doesn't know her well would probably think of her as cold at first, but off the journal's there is more warmth in her interactions, unless she's strictly being professional -- or trying hard to not have others worry for her. She puts up a front most of the time in this regard.

22) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?:

One of her personal goals was to go traveling with Genis to try to find acceptance for half-elves. In Luceti there never seemed to be a reason for that to come up, so it was easier for her to "hide in plain sight", though she's been trying to make amends to that goal, slowly. It's just a matter of finding the courage to go ahead with it. In the meanwhile there's dealing with the Mithos problem.

And of course, an ever goal remains to be learning more about the situation and finding the best way to handle it, which means remaining ever open for new possibilities.

23) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?:

Half and half, really. She lived most of her life in a non-technological world but always was brilliant at understanding technology even though she never remembered living with it. And the technology that they're provided with in the village is small fry compared to others she's experienced. It's different, but that's about it. Not complicated. Domestic appliances gave her some trouble at first.

24) FOR STUDENTS: What is their favorite class? What is their least favorite class? What about their general behavior in school?: Her students may find her to be either calm or intense depending on the lesson. Considering it's Luceti, she's much more laid back than she ever would have been in Iselia.

25) FOR DRINKERS: What is their favorite drink? What is their least favorite drink? Do they prefer Good Spirits or Cloud Nine? What's their attitude about and while drinking?: Not a drinker, but has poked into Good Spirits on request.

26) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?:

- She is a prodigy
- She is a healer
- when she's in her ruin mania, she dispenses knowledge of anything historical and can list off references at the drop of a hat. (also, terrible recipe ideas)
- She has a knack for figuring out technological things as well as complicated puzzles
- Her healing abilities. Also on the list are basic magic skills from her world that she's had knowledge of but never focused extensively on until Luceti.

27) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti?

- Filial magic skills, though that needs to be updated. She has made contact with every spirit and uses time to practice her magic abilities and add the filial magic to it. She's also interested in learning other skills if possible.
- increased medical knowledge under Dr. McCoy
- improved cooking/housework ability

28) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting?

For draft situations, Raine does her best to aid others in preparations. She spends a lot of time making specialized kits that contain various quick and easy healing supplies, mostly for not wanting them to immediately resort to the filial magic and bring down shift hunters on them as a result. They're intended to be small and easy for anyone to carry.

She fights when necessary or if she ends up in a bind, and she has the strength and magic to hold her own against ordinary soldiers; but the more numerous will give her trouble. She's better at long-range magic/support than close combat, given her weapon of choice.

29) What kind of habits do they have on missions? What is their reason for going on them? What do they intend to use their points for?

N/a as of yet, technically she's signed up but just hasn't been called yet. The points will be saved until a good use can be found for them.

30) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?:

Four years, as of March 4th.

She's experienced a lot in these past few years, and has found herself far more vulnerable than she'd ever like to be. She's gone from periods of extreme stress and overworking (a result of losing her brother and her memories and just finding something to focus on obsessively) to eventually taking a more resigned approach to some things, notably because of Albert's influence, but she still worries a lot.

She's become rather protective of certain residents, and there are a lot that she's come to care about. It pains her to see them go, or to return without their memories, but she knows that it's just how things are.

31) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft?

Most end of drafts have resulted in either a long hot shower or a long, long night's sleep. She's been better about giving herself breaks on occasion, although sometimes her initial reaction is to give herself some manner of distraction. The same with experiments, depending on the sort of recovery that's needed. Sometimes a nice ride on Astrid does wonders for familiarity and clearing the mind.

32) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping?

Her worst kidnapping was probably the one that happened during the week of Halloween, 2010, because afterward she was in great pain for a couple of months and could not use her artes.

The worst shift experience she's ever had was getting sick and dying from a plague that ravaged nearly two thirds of Luceti's population in her very first month of arriving.

33) Anything else you want to note?:

Washtubs. Hmm.
