Hey, everyone! Lauren here (Isamu, Itachi, and Zuko's player) bringing you a mod approved OOC event to zap a little life back into our fan community! On top of that, Luceti's anniversary is also on the 26th of October. How about that!

Starting now and ending on Halloween (so that's all of this month!) you'll have the opportunity to take one of the given prompts below to use for artwork or fanfiction - or both! You can post it in this community at any point this month, and anyone who participates will receive one in game reward for a character. That's right! An IC reward for participation in an OOC event!

What is this reward? Why it's a brand new jacket for a character of your choice! ...Nowaitcomeback!! It's not anything ~amazing~ or game changing, but the idea wasn't to make people feel like they needed to participate in this in order to gain an advantage. This is all for fun! And if we do it again in the future, the reward can be something different. The jacket comes in black, navy, or dark red (your choice), has wing holes in the back that can be closed up, and is otherwise just as displayed (...except nicer looking because those are kinda quick sketches - sorry).

The prompts we're looking for you to use are as follows:

1) Dark future - We're talking Luceti: the Final Hours, or something. Make it grim. Make it terrible. It doesn't have to be the end of all things. Just a future setting on its own is fine. And if you want to start dark but actually give it a happy(ish) ending, that's okay! As long as you're a little evil on the way there.

2) Halloween! - Don't want to go dark? Want to go dark but don't want to have it in a distant future? Feel free to do anything at all just involving the holiday. Maybe you want to write about an event that's never happened or that you want to see happen. Maybe you just want cheerful trick-or-treating with everyone in fun Halloween costumes. Go wild! As long as it fits with the theme, anything goes!

Fics should be at least 1500 words, so we know you put a little effort into it. Artwork should be whatever you think is a good equivalent time-wise. You can do as much as you want, of course, but there will be only one prize awarded to one of your characters no matter how much you do. If this goes over well, maybe we can do more things like it in the future!

At the start of November, everyone who's had their entries approved will have their character wake up with their prize - as well as the option to have dreamed about your entry!

When you post your work, make sure to put "October Event 2013" in the header. If you want, you can also use the following form to help people get a better idea of what your entry contains:

LUCETI BACKGROUND MUSIC MEME

It's a well-established fact that background music makes everything better. Guess what! It makes Luceti better, too. Have you ever wondered what kind of background music would play at the smithy? During a draft? At the beach? Well, this is the meme where you can find out, and post suggestions of your own! It works like this:

1. Post a setting prompt. It can be anywhere or anytime! Locations, events, missions, drafts, and the like are encouraged. For example, you could ask for music that would fit the mood of the TERRACE draft, the Iron Eye mission, the flower shop, the Battle Dome, whatever you want! The idea here is just to focus on setting instead of characters.
2. Respond to others' prompts! Got a tune you think fits someone's prompt well? Post it! It can be anything. Orchestra music, video game music, pop, rock, jazz, whatever you think fits. DW comments don't allow video embedding, so it's best to use a link to Youtube or any other music player. If you've got a rad song to fit your own prompt, post that, too! Let's get the musical juices flowing here.
3. Profit. Listen to music, enjoy the tunes, save them to a playlist so you have something to listen to when you're threading. Comment around on how much you dig the beats. Just have fun!

GREETINGS LUCETIANS. Long ago, on a distant server, Kyio once unleashed a pleasant meme. But it’s been forever since we did it again.

Now it’s back again! With even MORE questions to tease your brains! This is your chance to show everyone how much thought you put into your roleplay and more importantly, offer a glimpse into your character’s Luceti life. Why does this matter? Well, it’s a handy way of helping other people play off you and consequently, make more interesting CR. So be a cool guy and try and fill it out!

1) Height: (either canon/current height or just a guess)

2) Weight: (either canon/current weight or just a guess)

3) Eye color/Hair Color: (also add whether the color is supposed to look/represent another color (IE: hair looks blue, is supposed to represent black) or was dyed or ... whatever)

Same Old People, Wrong Destination

Today you get a message from the Malnosso. They’ve found a way to send you home. You’ll remember Luceti, but it’s a one way trip. You’ve said your tearful goodbyes and prepared yourself for the inevitable return home. One moment you’re in Luceti, the next you’re not.

But nobody ever said the Malnosso ever got everything right. Sure, you’re not in Luceti anymore. Yes, you’ve lost your wings and barcode. But this isn’t your world. It’s some other world and now that you’re cut off from the Malnosso, you have no hope of ever getting back home. Which means that wherever you’ve ended up, you’ll be spending the rest of your life there.

On the up-side, you’re not the only one stuck here. Someone else from Luceti, also alien to this world, is stuck with you. With the common bond of being strangers to this brave new world, it’s inevitable you’ll stick together. But for how long?

Seriously, I dunno about you guys, but it's been snowing here the past couple days, and it's greeeeaaaaat. It's come just in time to have a white Christmas!
