THE DAILY LIFE MEME
GREETINGS LUCETIANS. Long ago, on a distant server, Kyio once unleashed a pleasant meme. But it’s been forever since we did it again.
Now it’s back again! With even MORE questions to tease your brains! This is your chance to show everyone how much thought you put into your roleplay and more importantly, offer a glimpse into your character’s Luceti life. Why does this matter? Well, it’s a handy way of helping other people play off you and consequently, make more interesting CR. So be a cool guy and try and fill it out!
Feel free to respond to each other's tags with IC or OOC responses, questions, or what have you. Have fun!
Aang | Avatar: The Last Airbender 1/2
2) Weight: He doesn't have a canon weight and I'm horrible at estimating these things but one person suggested somewhere from 118-125 lbs.? He's kind of scrawny but he's also been building up some muscle, just not in an overly weight lift-y manner.
3) Eye color/Hair Color: Gray eyes and black hair. Although of course it's hard to tell his hair color beyond his eyebrows because he keeps his head smoothly shaved.
4) Age: So! Aang has been in Luceti long enough to be mentally 15, although his body is still 14 due to the canon update he had some months ago. You can also add a hundred to either number if you wish to account for his time frozen in the iceberg.
5) Physical features: Most notable? His arrow tattoos. Here is a little reference sheet on how they work. The most notable one is one that goes up his back and over the back of his head to point at his forehead. The others go down his arms and legs. And also visible in that picture is something that should be visible during beach parties now that it's summer season: he has a big scar on his back from the time he was "killed" by Azula. There's also a smaller scar on the bottom of one of his feet.
6) Voice: Voila!
7) Who do they live with and how are chores divided in their house/apartment?: Well Aang lives in House 56 - currently with Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Ikki, Bolin and Korra. He used to share a room with Avatar Roku during his time here, but after both he and Ikki lost their roommates, Aang moved into Ikki's room and has occupied the higher bunk of the bunkbed. As for the chore division? Katara has overseen an equal division of the chores. Particularly centered around the family dinner where anyone who eats is required to either help with preparations or cleaning. Usually, Aang has been helping to prepare the vegetable portions of meals moreso over time. Otherwise, he helps out what he can with cleaning around the house. He doesn't exactly get lazy about it but sometimes he can be oblivious to things in need of attention until they're pointed out to him.
8) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: Well, Aang is a vegetarian and enjoys most foods of that vein. Stuff like stir fry, tofu, noodles are among his favorites. Dessert-wise, his favorite is an egg custard tart (presumably using unfertilized eggs). Overall, his notably least favorite food is the sea squash which is a favorite of the Water Tribe. As for the cooking? Katara does a majority of it most of the time. Aang's been doing what he can to help out and has been steadily improving skill-wise over time, although he's limited to vegetarian dishes, and his skill is primarily in recreating some of his people's dishes. Aang's also a good baker, with making pies and pastries and stuff - those he usually brings as party favors, and since then he's been working at the bakery.
9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: All kinds of things! Every day is an adventure. He has the boring sleep schedule of early to bed, early to rise. And most of his early morning is bending training with whoever is awake and meditation. Airbending training with Ikki is typically around 7AM I think and I forgot whether Korra attends that one or a later one. He attends to school and afterwards has a number of extra activities. He has occasional shifts at the Welcome Center and the bakery, and he also spends time at the bakery. He also spends lots of time generally wandering and exploring, either on foot taking nature walks or taking Appa out for a ride. He tries to see his friends as often as possible and also likes to play with/entertain Ikki as much as he can. And various random meditations/extra bending practice throughout the day.
10) Their general sense of fashion: Perhaps in need of adjustment but I doubt he's often much like a fashion disaster. He picks out and wears whatever boyish clothes are around. Sometimes he goes around in simple t-shirt and shorts.
11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: He has a number of hobbies. Some he's had for a while - liking riding animals, exploring and coming up with tricks. One he's picked up in Luceti is reading, which is influenced by Jinora during her brief stay. Aang wants to make sure he stays very literate and smart in case he gets to meet her again.
12) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?: Yes, there have been some shifts in his thinking. Aang has had to accept that he isn't really the Avatar in this world and that the way he can help is very limited. He's learned to be something more like tactful with his friends and not to assume that everyone's lives at home are ones as well off as those of he and his friends' back home. And most notably, he's had to face a large number of people who've had to take lives, including finding out that his two best friends have done so here in Luceti. He's had to accept this as something forced by circumstances and refuses to pass judgement on his friends. Otherwise, shifts have related to his romantic feelings and accepting that this Katara isn't exactly the "same" one who became his girlfriend at home.
13) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: Primarily he carries around his staff, which is a recreation of an air nomad one. In its normal staff form, it is primarily used to amplify his airbending. It can also shift into a glider form, at which point Aang use his airbending to have it glide through the air. There's also a long-forgotten pair of tonfas that Aang has picked up as his Luceti weapon of choice, as he sought something non-lethal for defense when his bending is turned off. Robin has trained him in using them.
14) Do they have any pets? Would these pets be at their homes, or do they hang out with the character in question?: Aang's primary pet is Appa, who is pretty much his spirit-bound animal companion. He's a huge sky bison who can't fit in the house, but he stays close to it. Aang and Toph made a makeshift earth tent near the house to act as Appa's shelter. Aang hangs out with Appa pretty often and takes him on flights around Luceti, as well as introducing him to all his new friends. There's also Momo, a flying lemur who technically came to Luceti with Katara. Momo stays around the house and sticks with Aang fairly often. And between his friends, there's a small menagerie of animals whom he tries to play around with as well.
15) Who are their neighbors?: Across the lane is Houses 51 and 52. The former contains Jack Holden, Eugene Woods, Max Woodville and Zevran - none of whom Aang has explicitly met in the past, but it's like they've at least seen each other considering how often the Aang practices bending/hangs out in general on the front lawn. While House 52 has Mithos, whom Aang has been warned about by Raine and things are tense there due to Mithos being a typical hero turned horrible villain. Next door in one direction is House 57 which is recently empty but... wow Garrosh was their neighbor. And on the other side is Community House 5, which is home to a host of people, out of which Aang is primarily friends with Robin and Kid Loki.
16) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what? Primarily his best friends are the same as from canon - Katara, Sokka and the rest of the Gaang. Although with Sokka's current state, they don't exactly have much friendship things going on right now. Aang has made a number of friends around Luceti, too, whom he considers near to best friends at least, such as Shikamaru, Winry, Robin, Rapunzel, Katniss, Ed Elric, Buffy, Raine, Masaomi, Ion, Platina and Luke Skywalker and... lots of people count, okay. What he does with them depends on the person, but often he'll hang out with them, try to show off tricks and/or play games, explore.
17) On the flip side, is there anyone they actively don’t get along with? How do they interact, and would people know about this? There's no one he's really actively against at the present. He's leery of Loki because of his reputation and the time that Elicia was endangered, but for the most part he's tolerant of him. He's had his share of disagreements and tension with Masaomi, but they're cool with each other for the most part. Currently? Sokka's the primary person whom Aang doesn't get along with, due to his behavior and actions from the death penalty. At least until they actually confront him about it, Aang has still tried to act casual and normal around Sokka. It's just in a reluctant and nervous manner, and Aang will take any excuse to leave his company.
18) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: Most places would qualify. Exploration-wise, he loves the forest, the lakes, the mountains and the beach and cherry blossom hill. He likes to explore the library and read, and otherwise his primary favorite place is the bakery.
19) Do they belong to any clubs or organizations? Which ones? Do they go regularly, or just occasionally? Aang is one of the proudest members of the art club, founded by his own granddaughter (and he temporarily took up the reins of co-leadership during Ikki's trip home). He regularly goes there and promotes it as much as he can.
20) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?: They're primarily orange but yellow in a circular shape at the "center". Aang lets his wings go through his clothes and tries to find ways for them to complement his airbending.
21) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: Not exactly. He had already done a decent amount of growth between the series and The Promise so that he's no longer pocket-sized. In Luceti, he hasn't undegone much grown - partly due to a canon update some months back that reset his Luceti age - but he's due for quite some more growing throughout his Luceti years, as it's been shown that he will wind up being the most freakishly tall of the Gaang.
22) What do they miss the most from home?: The air in general, the places - especially the air temples. And the people he's separated from while he's in Luceti. And he does miss the relationship he had back home as well.
23) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?: Kind of neatish but still a little scribbly? There's a sample of his handwriting here. He pretty much writes the way he talks, just more thought-out.
24) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?: Aang always acts the same!
25) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?: Pretty much. He can't fully live into his role as Avatar here as well as losing his status as a boyfriend. Aside from that, most of his lost goals have been ones he didn't know he would have yet. Aang is cut off from the road towards starting a family, rebuilding the air nomads and starting Republic City. In Luceti, his primary personal goals are to look after Ikki and to do what he can to hold his friends together, since he thinks that's the best he can do. He has also slowly undergone an arc towards learning more about how traditional family works.
26) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: Super-upgrade. Some of the new technology is kind of weird and scary to him, but they're also fun and he tends to look at them in unique ways. Most notably, there was the time he used a vending machine for the first time and saw it as a puzzle game of sorts.
27) FOR STUDENTS: What is their favorite class? What is their least favorite class? What about their general behavior in school?: World Sharing is his favorite because of his love of culture. Otherwise art and music are high contenders, while math and science are his least favorites. In school, he can be attentive and well-behaved most of the time. But he's still prone to his moments of distraction and whispering to others or passing notes, especially when sharing classes with Ikki (whom he always sits next to).
28) FOR DRINKERS: What is their favorite drink? What is their least favorite drink? Do they prefer Good Spirits or Cloud Nine? What's their attitude about and while drinking?: N/A
29) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: Well, he's the Avatar. He's skilled at all four types of bending (air, fire, water and earth) but is a master of airbending in particular due to having been raised on it. He also has spiritual connections and energybending, but that latter one usually doesn't work within Luceti.

31) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting? On drafts, he brings his tonfa along and does what he can to immobilize enemies. He will absolutely not take lives and he focuses on protecting lives instead.
32) What kind of habits do they have on missions? What is their reason for going on them? What do they intend to use their points for? Aang has only been on one mission so far in a non-combat role. Aang primarily will go for missions which don't require combat. Part of it is to see the world outside and do what he can to find a way to make a difference. He also wants to make sure to have points in case they need them, in order to take care of Ikki in particular.
33) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?: (IE. getting used to the place, not wanting to leave, being less/more inclined to do something about their situation, so on) It's been a year and three months since his arrival, and since then he only had a very brief trip home about seven months ago. It has impacted him in ways. Aang is someone who is used to traveling and living freely. All his time year has been an adjustment to living in a confined space within one house. He's had to face a lot about this place - that he may be stuck here like Katara and Sokka in specific have been, that other worlds are sucky and there's nothing he can do to help them, that the extent of what he can do is primarily limited to reaching out to others and doing what he can to help them through their pain. But he still hasn't and can't let his spirits be crushed completely, and he continues to power through the negative feelings this place inspires with his cheery optimism.
34) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft? Aang's instinct is usually to retreat and spend time on his own. Sometimes he tries to brush it off and act normal. But the most helpful for him is usually meditation and talking over his problems with another. His support system with Katara is usually the most effective.
35) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked? The cross-canon au event was probably the worst for him (and sob it was right after he arrived at Luceti). First, when he thought he was the second Robin of the Teen Titans world, he had to see the evidence pile up and come to accept that this life was "fake". And then after he returned to normal, he didn't realize at first that Katara was still under her own effect due to an error and had to comfort "that" Katara before she "died" by being turned back to normal. While Aang himself hasn't been kidnapped, probably the other worse thing for him was when Katara had been kidnapped and replaced with an AU of herself, both because of what that Katara had been through and because it made him realize there could be any number of versions of his world out there where he wasn't able to be there for his friends. As for ones he liked? He definitely really enjoyed the recent wing event, especially because of how well his and Kipinn's personalities meshed together.
36) Anything else you want to note?: I don't know! But I can field questions.
