The Daily Life Meme
Friends, Lucetians, countrymen, lend me your ears! Once upon a time, Kyio (God rest her zombie bones) gave us a quaint little meme. Once again, more than a year has passed since it has been revisited, so awwwww here it goes...!
All you do is fill out the following survey! Now is the time to unleash all that tl;dr you've pent up for all this time. Let your fellow players know what your character gets up to in Luceti - hobbies, habits, hangouts, and more. Find out things you never knew about your CR! Find new cool cats to make CR with! Go, go, go!
As always, feel free to throw around IC or OOC responses and questions to each other. Have fun!
EDIT: Forgot Cloud Nine no longer exists, so I edited question 28 to include Seventh Heaven instead. WHOOPS.

Taku's Two Dumb Kids
Cilan | Pokemon (anime) || why is this so long brb sobbing
2) Weight: fuck if I have any idea, light enough that a grown man was able to princess carry him easily
3) Eye color/Hair Color: Very distinctive green eyes, and bright green hair to match.
4) Age: Who...even really knows? It's never been stated in the anime, but give or take the 2+ years he's been here, he's around 18-19ish at absolute most.
5) Physical features: He's good-looking, but he's also kind of lanky and dorky sometimes in appearance, let's be honest here.
6) Voice: MAMORU MIYANO is the go-to for this. He does have an english VA (the guy who used to voice Sonic the Hedgehog...) but I rely on his original voice in the japanese for him.
7) Who do they live with and how are chores divided in their house/apartment?: House 11 with Ash, Gold, Silver, Crys, and Rin. He keeps his room tidy and keeps the kitchen sparkling, plus will help out with other areas if need be.
8) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: OH GOD WE'LL BE HERE ALL DAY IF I LIST CILAN'S FOODS but uh he is partial to sweet things? And yes, he does the cooking for everyone at the house, and occasionally for parties when asked. Rin lives there too now so sometimes he lets Rin cook for that day if he feels so inclined.
9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: Cooking, training with Pokemon, reading at the library, hanging out with friends, that sort of stuff.
10) Their general sense of fashion: Dresses like the classiest gentleman of course. Naturally though, while this is his main attire, he does accessorize and make small changes to it to accompany the appropriate season. (Wearing a scarf and jacket too during the colder seasons, wearing a short sleeved shirt under the vest during the summer, etc.) It might not be too obvious when he's wearing long sleeves, but he has also taken to wearing a bracelet on one of his wrists that Iris made for him before she left.
He also likes dressing up in random costumes, so if given the opportunity to do so, he definitely will dress like a pirate or wear a cape or crossdress or some other weird thing once in a while.
11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: Cilan has...like, a million hobbies, actually. He loves Pokemon, cooking, movies, fishing, sciencey stuff, trains, mysteries, etc. etc. While some of those things don't get brought up very often in Luceti, he still manages to keep up with Pokemon and cooking, and he reads about his favorite subjects and watches the movies at the rec center. During the summer he also sneaks off once or twice to go fishing for a little while when no one is around.
12) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?: Sort of. He still doesn't like talking about paranormal/supernatural things, but he's been forced to acknowledge that some things, like the spirits here, are in fact real. He's still reluctant to talk to them, but he's at least considered the idea of doing so now, so I guess that's progress. (He still gets easily spooked by ghosts, though.)
He still dislikes Purrloins though despite not having seen one in two years, but that's neither here nor there.
13) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: The closest thing to a weapon he would probably be carrying is a knife back when he used to be traveling, but that's just because he's a chef. While he knows it probably is a better idea to keep one on his person around here, he feels a little bad about using stuff like that. After the recent draft though he would probably strongly consider keeping something around now just in case they get pulled into another draft or similar situation.
There are his Pokemon too, but don't call them weapons, that would actually make him angry if you said that.
14) Do they have any pets? Would these pets be at their homes, or do they hang out with the character in question?: Pansage, Crustle, and Stunfisk are his beloved team of Pokemon. He usually has his Pokemon with him at all times, with Pansage being the one most likely to be found outside of the poke'ball at times. He doesn't refer to them as pets though, he thinks of them as his closest friends here, to be honest.
15) Who are their neighbors?: The people over in the Flame building!
16) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what? Well, Pansage is practically his life partner, seeing as they've been together since he was a little kid. But other than Pokemon, there's Ash, a close friend of his from back home. Despite the age difference, Cilan would consider Ash to probably be his best friend, and they hang out a lot. They'll eat together, train together, play games,
talk about anything other than their goddamn problems, etc. etc. He had Iris too for a little while, but she's gone home now, much like some of his other friends.Other than Ash though, he does consider people like Gold, Silver, and Masaomi as good friends, though the latter has pointed out to him that he seems to have more people that he's just nice to rather than actual friends at the moment, so...hrm. Food for thought.
17) On the flip side, is there anyone they actively don’t get along with? How do they interact, and would people know about this? Not really, he's pretty nice to everyone at the moment, though he does occasionally bicker a little with Ash and his friends once in a while. (If he ever got around to meeting Giovanni though he probably would dislike him quite a bit, given his feelings about Team Rocket and all. And I'm certainly not opposed to other possible negative CR...provided that someone can actually get under his skin enough for it.)
18) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: The house, the Battle Dome, the library, and the Rec Center.
19) Do they belong to any clubs or organizations? Which ones? Do they go regularly, or just occasionally? Nope. He does have a part-time job of making food like boxed lunches and stuff for the convenience store, though.
20) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?: Green, like his hair. He doesn't bother with hiding them.
21) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: He's gotten a little taller and has recently started letting his hair grow out longer, though it's hard to tell since he hides his mop of hair under hair gel anyway. (Has vaguely considered the idea of letting it be more noticeable, though...)
22) What do they miss the most from home?: His brothers, Iris and his other friends, the Pokemon and the multitude of battles with other trainers, everything. Hell, he almost misses some of the rude people in his life like Burgundy, that's how much he would rather be at home right now than here.
23) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?: Very good penmanship, occasionally even writes in fancy cursive writing. He doesn't use his odd speech quirk too much though when writing, as he usually resorts to writing when he wants to leave a quick message for someone.
24) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?: Nope, he acts exactly the same over the journals as he does in person.
25) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?: Nope, he still hopes to become an S-class Pokemon Connoisseur someday. A new goal however is, in order to pass the time, to try to read as many books as he can here in Luceti's library, so that he can be knowledgeable in other matters outside of just his hobbies too, and to improve his skills as a chef since there are new dishes he's learned to make here that he didn't have back in Unova. If anything, what motivates him the most to try to better himself is a rather simple one: protect his friends and do whatever he can to make them happy during their stay here, Ash in particular being the obvious example.
26) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: Downgrade, because the Pokemon world was really technological and fancy in comparison to the slightly more rural village of Luceti. The Battle Dome though is very impressive.
27) FOR STUDENTS: What is their favorite class? What is their least favorite class? What about their general behavior in school?: Nope, not in school.
28) FOR DRINKERS: What is their favorite drink? What is their least favorite drink? Do they prefer Good Spirits or Seventh Heaven? What's their attitude about and while drinking?: Nope. He'd be lying if he said he hasn't tried wine once before, but otherwise OJ is the choice drink of Pokemon trainers. :|
29) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: As an A-class Pokemon Connoisseur, he's considered to be a talented strategist who can come up with battle strategies for his Pokemon and even other people's Pokemon that would best suit them. He can even teach a couple of new moves to Pokemon, provided it's a move he knows of. (Solarbeam, for example.) Also he's really smart and a great chef who makes really delicious stuff, is really good at fishing and acting, basically being a know-it-all dork.
Also it's not mentioned a lot, but he has a really sharp sense of taste and smell, being able to detect things that others might not. (For example, he was able to tell that something was poisonous once, or even figure out that a liquid was melted ice from a Pokemon attack by smell alone.)
30) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti? If so, what are they? Why and how? He's probably learned some minor medical treatment here, plus other stuff from books he's read to pass the time. (A good chunk of it is pointless facts, but still.) He's learned how to make some new dishes too as a chef. Outside of hobby related and medical info though, something he knows he should start learning how to do is more fighting himself than just his Pokemon or communicating with the spirits, but...he's sort of just doing some other things on his own at the moment...
31) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting? Avoids killing. He used to try to avoid fighting itself too, but now he's willing to get right down to it and knock the enemy out as quickly as possible. He slightly bent his no-kill rule during the recent draft after the nasty death incident, but mainly in a non-straightforward "I'll try not to, but if they get crushed under a rock somewhere for looking at me or my friends funny, then oh well I'm not gonna let myself feel bad about it for now." rather than actively trying to harm them, but that was a pretty stressful time...
32) What kind of habits do they have on missions? What is their reason for going on them? What do they intend to use their points for? He doesn't go on missions very much, if at all. He would have gone on the recent ones, but he opted out to take care of Ash instead.
33) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?: Officially two years as of last week. And yeah, it's definitely changed Cilan quite a bit: while he's still just as obnoxiously talkative and cheerful, he's started suppressing his negative emotions even more than he did back in Unova, mainly because he doesn't want to worry Ash or his other friends with that sort of thing. As a result, he tends to act a lot more happier than he actually is a lot lately, even if people close to him can tell that he's faking it. Thank god King's Game and his recent battle with Ash helped to channel some of that stress into healthier outlets, so he's started feeling a little genuinely better now...
And helped to hold off on any potential emotional meltdowns again like the one he had after the dying thing...Still though, he's also sort of become slightly pessimistic in one particular aspect: while he almost never says anything of that nature out loud, and while he adores his friends and is always encouraging others to never give up, he's also gotten very used to people he likes getting sent away from here. So now when people like Ash or even his own brother say things like "we'll always be there for you, you don't have to take care of things by yourself anymore, etc."...well, he tries not to let it surprise him anymore when they do end up leaving Luceti and he's left dealing with stuff on his own again, so in some respects you could say that he's become a little emotionally distant under the surface when it comes to that sort of thing. (...Weirdly enough though he's been letting people get closer in his personal space more than he would have before Luceti, even going so far as letting Ash hug him which is something he never would have done back at home...)
34) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft? Spends lots and lots of time with his Pokemon, mainly.
35) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked? Let us never speak of the last draft ever again...except that now it's affecting his sleeping habits thanks to the nightmares that won't let him forget about it and just...ugh. The worst part about it isn't even the dying part anymore, it's that he said some awful things to Ash about it at the time and now it's put a strain on their friendship at the moment because they're dumb idiots who won't just talk about and get over it already.
36) Anything else you want to note?: I would be very interested in getting Cilan more friends, or even getting him to actually open up a little more to some of the people he's already known for a while. Anyone who could get him to actually try to talk to the spirits or even give a pointer lesson or two in self-defense could be good, too. ...And heck, I'm open to the idea of dating too, because why the heck not.
Also Ash and Cilan are ridiculous and need to stop it
