THE DAILY LIFE MEME
GREETINGS LUCETIANS. Long ago, on a distant server, Kyio once unleashed a pleasant meme. But then it's been over a year and yeah, we need to do it again. It's sort of like an info survey.
Well it's back, with new questions! And thanks to Dreamwidth's generous comment character count, these might even fit into a single comment! It's a 33 question survey/meme about your characters and their experiences and developments in Luceti. It'll give you a better idea of where your characters are at and let other people get a good sense of what your character is like and up to. It can make for interesting stuff, really.

2) Weight: Probably a little less than average for someone his height and age.
3) Eye color/Hair Color: Green eyes, red hair.
4) Age: Eighteen.
5) Physical features: Nothing unusual!
6) Voice: No VA. I imagine his voice is on the deeper side of things now, but not super deep. He speaks pretty casually (and
occasionallysleepily).7) Who do they live with and how are chores divided in their house/apartment?: He lives with his brother Albert Silverberg (
8) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: Anything that reminds him of Gregminster! He has a fondness for sweets and doesn't care too much for vegetables, but he isn't the pickiest eater and will eat whatever's there. That's because Albert does most of the cooking! Caesar can cook, too, but he generally prefers not to. Still, he'll volunteer every now and then to cook, or at least help out whoever is cooking that day.
9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: Stay at home, read, sleep when he feels like it, play with his dog, help out around the house or in the stables...! Whatever he feels like doing. He likes to change things up when he's bored, which can end up in going for walks (sometimes with Kogoro, sometimes not), and when it's warm outside, he likes to lie down in the grass and probably sleep. Probably.
10) Their general sense of fashion: Pretty simple. He likes anything that's comfortable, so t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, cotton pants... He likes wearing his jacket a lot when he goes out, and he usually wears boots over regular shoes. He really likes the color green on things.
11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: He likes to sleep. A lot. He likes to read, but only when it's something that's interesting to him. These are hobbies he's always had! In Luceti, he's also kind of learned the "joys" of having a pet, so spending time with Kogoro is kind of a hobby, too.
12) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?: In general, Caesar is pretty stuck in his ways! But he's kind of matured in a few ways, too. He tries to be more understanding (especially of his brother, despite the fact that they don't agree on a lot of things) and in general, he tries to be more responsible. He's still really lazy, certainly, but he doesn't quite resist to being helpful and responsible every now and then, either.
13) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: He has a small knife that he keeps with him, courtesy of Sigmund a long time ago. He usually has it with him, since it's easy to conceal and not in the way of anything. He's been taking lessons for swordplay from Leonhardt (
14) Who are their neighbors?: Yuri, Naoi, and Yotsuba in House 40; Okita, Ayumu, Homura, and Hijikata in House 50. CH7 is also right down the road!
15) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what? ...well, Caesar doesn't really do best friends. :| But he likes to keep up with his acquaintances to some extent! He doesn't check in on people regularly, but he does when he can. You know. Over the journals or through random encounter.
16) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: Um. The house. :| He doesn't mind going to the library from time to time, and he likes to frequent the bakery.
17) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?: His wings are white, and in general, he just ignores them. ...even if they kind of get in the way when he sleeps, and that's annoying.
18) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: He's grown a bit taller since coming to Luceti! And he's totally proud of it. :| He tries to keep his hair trimmed but... effort...
19) What do they miss the most from home?: Home! He misses Gregminster and the Toran Republic. He might miss the castle a little bit, too, and everyone inside it. (Except Lilly, of course.) While he didn't exactly like everyone, he was fond of the castle in his own way.
20) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?: His handwriting is a little messy, though he can write nicely if he feels like it. He usually writes the way he talks, unless he has a lot to say in which case he might try to shorten things up a bit.
21) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?: Nope, he's pretty much the same.
22) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?: He hasn't lost any personal goals since coming to Luceti, but it's okay since he didn't have many to begin with! He did sort of gain one, though, and it's personal improvement—just trying to better himself in little ways.
23) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: It's an upgrade! He doesn't really know much about it except for the stuff he has to deal with, like electricity and electric appliances, but he's adapted well enough.
24) FOR STUDENTS: What is their favorite class? What is their least favorite class? What about their general behavior in school?:N/A25) FOR DRINKERS: What is their favorite drink? What is their least favorite drink? Do they prefer Good Spirits or Cloud Nine? What's their attitude about and while drinking?:N/A26) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: He doesn't really have any! He's really smart, so I guess that kind of counts.
27) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti? If so, what are they? Why and how? He taught himself how to cook, learned horseback riding from Albert, and he's currently learning swordplay thanks to Leonhardt. I think that's about it! He likes to read up on things that might be useful (like medicine, for example) and tries to soak up as much information as he can on the subjects, but he's still learning. His reason for learning these things (and anything he might learn in the future) is simple—he learns things that he thinks will be useful to him.
28) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting? Caesar likes to help out with the drafts by providing some kind of organization—he likes to set up groups so that people aren't running around aimlessly, sets objectives, and gives advice both to fighting groups and people fighting on their own. He prefers to avoid fighting and generally stay out of harm's way. He would probably kill if he had to (that is, if his life was in danger), but he's definitely been lucky in that regard and hasn't had any close encounters.
29) What kind of habits do they have on missions? What is their reason for going on them? What do they intend to use their points for? He hasn't been on any missions! Originally, that was mostly because he was (unsure) about them, but Albert sort of convinced him that it might be something for him to consider someday. So... you know. Someday.
30) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?: He arrived in Luceti on August 5, 2009, so he's been here for two years and eight months...! His feelings on Luceti are kind of complicated. He doesn't like it and he'd much rather be home, but he doesn't like the idea of going home while his brother is still here, and he worries that things won't be the same with his brother once they leave. So while he doesn't quite want to stay, he likes how things are here, and he hopes that they'll stay that way.
31) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft? Caesar likes to just... relax. Sleep in, maybe go out for something to eat, come back and lay around. Not very different from any other day, besides like... skipping chores.
32) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked? The first AU event might have been the roughest, if only because of all the other stuff that was going on around that time. That was also one that really affected him personally, while he's usually indifferent to experiments and kidnappings. One he actually liked would probably be the Total Recall event from... not last December, but the one before it. Because he got to run around and be an irresponsible five-year-old with a doting big brother. Best thing ever.

2) Weight: Average for his height and age. He's kind of a small kid, but he doesn't seem to be unhealthily skinny at all.
3) Eye color/Hair Color: Blue eyes, brown hair.
4) Age: Fourteen.

6) Voice: He's voiced by Spike Spencer in English and Megumi Ogata in Japanese, but the English is what I tag in mind with, so...! See: A drunk, a hedgehog, and a penguin.
Ugh, Rebuild, why are you so gorgeous.7) Who do they live with and how are chores divided in their house/apartment?: He lives alone, so he takes care of his own chores! He's usually pretty good about them. Even living by himself, he doesn't tend to leave things lying around and all that.
8) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: He cooks for himself, and he's pretty good at it no matter what he says. He doesn't really have a favorite kind of food or anything, though. He just eats what's there.
9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: Um. Exist? 8D; He stays home, but he also likes to wander around a lot. (And I do mean a lot.) He's not used to having this much free time, so he has no idea what to do with it.
10) Their general sense of fashion: Simple and comfortable. He wears t-shirts and shorts around the apartment and probably dresses up a bit more to go out—the button-up shirts and pants that he usually wears for school are perfect for that.
11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: ...this is kind of tough because Shinji doesn't derive much pleasure out of, uh, anything. :| Listening to music kind of counts, though, even if he doesn't really do it for fun. It isn't something he's done for a very long time, but he definitely did it before coming to Luceti.
12) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?: Nope, not yet, but then again, he hasn't been here very long! I'm sure it will someday.
13) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: Ahaha, god, no. :| I don't think he ever will, either. What is self-preservation?!
14) Who are their neighbors?: He lives in CH4 on the second floor. Pilouette is his only neighbor!
15) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what? He doesn't really have a best friend yet...!
16) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: Um. I bet he likes hanging out on the roof of CH4 when it's nice out!
17) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?: His wings are white! He generally ignores them.
18) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: Nope, not at all.
19) What do they miss the most from home?: His friends (even Asuka)! Misato! Penpen!
But totally never his dad. Totally.20) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?: His handwriting is normal—simple, probably not very unique. He writes close to how he talks.
21) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?: Nope, it's pretty much the same!
22) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?: Hmm. He doesn't have many personal goals, but protecting his friends was probably one of them before coming to Luceti. Even if he'd like to protect the people he's met here, he doesn't think he can without the Eva! So now he has nothing (and it really, really bothers him).
23) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: It's a downgrade for him, but it's not a big deal. He probably dislikes not having a TV around for background noise or a computer for an MP3 player, but they're definitely things he can do just fine without.

If so, what are they?: He can play the cello! Really well, too, even if he says otherwise. It's the same for cooking. He's good at it and his friends love it, but he doesn't seem to think he's that great at it.
27) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti? If so, what are they? Why and how? Nope! He hasn't been around long enough and still doesn't see the point in anything here.
28) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting? ...ahaha. He hasn't been on any yet, but I'm sure when he is, it will be... interesting. :| He would avoid fighting, though, and stay out of trouble.

Has that length of time impacted them in any way?: He arrived on March 3, 2012, so he's been in Luceti for over a month now. He doesn't really know how he feels about it yet! He's met a lot of good people here and experiments aside, Luceti is a nice place. He loves that he doesn't have to pilot the Eva and fight angels here, but at the same time, that's what gave him purpose, so while it's peaceful and his life isn't in danger anymore, he misses what he had at home. He also really misses his friends. So it's also complicated. :'|
31) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft? Get away from anything that reminds him of what happened, plug in his headphones, and not think about anything at all.
32) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked? The only thing he's experienced so far would be the re-anchoring reality shift from the beginning of the month. It was both a good and bad experience! Going back to Ilia's world and being on a real spaceship? Pretty darn cool. Being led to believe that someone from his world was in Luceti with him? Not so bad—Ilia was nice and it was fun spending time with her. Realizing that wasn't true and that he'd probably be alone here for a while? ...not so cool. :|

Elliot Nightray
2) Weight: No canon weight. Maybe around 130 lbs (59 kg).
3) Eye color/Hair Color: Blue eyes, light... blonde/brown hair. His hair is kind of a mystery.
4) Age: Seventeen.
5) Physical features: He wears a pair of light blue studs in his ears (barely visible here), has a birthmark under his left eye, and has a scar on his left hand from being stabbed with his sword.
6) Voice: He's voiced by Hirofumi Nojima in the anime. See: Cool guys tell cats to shut the hell up.
7) Who do they live with and how are chores divided in their house/apartment?: He lives with his brothers Gilbert and Vincent Nightray (
8) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: Gilbert does most of the cooking, and if he's not around to do it, Leo will cook for Elliot and himself. He's picky about his food, but Gil's a pretty good cook, so it's usually not a big deal.
9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: Read! He could spend hours reading, and he enjoys doing it. They aren't quite everyday activities, but he practices swordplay often and likes to (attempt to) write music sometimes. In general, he stays around the house, but he likes to go out on better days just to walk around, because he's the type to get antsy after sitting still for too long.
10) Their general sense of fashion: Like a boss. ...by which I mean like a typical Victorian nobleman, of course. When it come to color, he wears a lot of black, gray, and white, with the occasional splash of blue. He wears clothes that don't expose much skin at all, and he usually wears a pair of gloves when he goes out. He goes without jackets (like so) around the house and when it's warmer out, and when it's colder, he wears a nice, long coat. His formal clothes bear the Nightray family crest, but he obviously doesn't wear these as often.
11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: Reading, music (writing, playing the piano, though these are a bit difficult now), and swordplay are his main hobbies. These are things he's always done and enjoys pretty often in Luceti! He hasn't come up with any new hobbies since he arrived. (He had been coaxed into attempting gardening during an experiment, but after his servant ruined the garden, he hasn't tried to take care of plants since.)
12) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?: Not really. He's pretty much disliked Luceti from the start, but he doesn't mind the people here.
13) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: He has a black sword that he received as a gift from his father. It's a symbol that represents his position as a member of the Nightray house... or, at least, that's what he was told. It's easily the most important thing he's ever owned. Ever. As such, he carries it with him everywhere he goes, regardless of circumstance. (He even takes it to school with him in canon, hiding it inside a violin case and taking it with him everywhere.) Oh, and you'd better not touch it. He really doesn't like it when people touch his sword.
14) Who are their neighbors?: Mithos and Martel in house 52 and Reiko, Takashi, and Tanuma in house 54.
15) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what? His best friend in allll of Luceti would be Leo, but he's been pretty (unsure) about him since he returned to Luceti. He's not quite as close to anyone else as he is to him, but he cares a lot about his Luceti friends even if he doesn't see them often (...which he doesn't, because engaging friends in an inform setting is not something he's used to).
16) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: The library! It's not really his favorite place, though, so much as... the only place with anything interesting for him to do, haha.
17) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?: His wings are black. He doesn't hide them, but he doesn't tend to acknowledge them, either. He doesn't like them since he's not supposed to have them, but otherwise, they're just kind of there.
18) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: He's gotten a little taller!
I would say something about his hair but I'm not sure anyone knows how that works.His hair has probably grown, too, but he never leaves it that way—he always maintains his appearance.19) What do they miss the most from home?: ...um. :|; Well, his family!! Which is ironic, considering the only other possible place he could see them now is Luceti...!
20) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?: His handwriting is probably a little neater than average. Not beautiful, flowing script or anything, but neat. For the most part, he writes the way he speaks. (You know, except for all the yelling. He doesn't really convey that in his writing.)
21) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?: He doesn't really act different, but it might seem that way. He will seem more polite through his writing, since if he's speaking, he's prone to... well, speaking too loud. So in his voiced entries (which is also how he is in person), he might seem to be your typical rude, obnoxious teenage boy, while in written ones, he seems much more calm and well-mannered.
22) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?: Yes to both! His personal goal at home was to figure out the identity of the Headhunter, but that's something that's obviously hard for him to do in Luceti, so it's not much of a goal anymore. On the other hand, being in Luceti has taught him that there are a lot of things he doesn't understand, besides his unusual dreams, so that's something he wants to figure out now.
23) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: Upgrade! It's still really strange for him, all these appliances and electricity and things, but it's not so bad because... he doesn't hav eto use them. His brother and his servant do. :|

If so, what are they?: He can compose and play his own music on the piano! Unfortunately, an injury at home makes playing for him difficult, so he doesn't do it very much in Luceti (unless he wants to become frustrated). He is also skilled in swordplay.
27) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti? If so, what are they? Why and how? Nope. He'd learned a bit about gardening, but he lost interest in it when the garden ~mysteriously~ failed.
28) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting? Elliot is a fighter, but he fights defensively, not offensively. He's the type of person who'd prefer to fight to help someone else rather than just fight for the sake of fighting. He can be reckless, but again, usually only for someone else's sake.
29) What kind of habits do they have on missions? What is their reason for going on them? What do they intend to use their points for?N/A30) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?: He arrived on March 6th, 2011, so he's been here for a year and one month. The length of time hasn't really made much of an impact on him. ...well, you know, besides pissing him off.
31) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft? Time to practice that swordplay. >:| He's not really a battle dome person, practicing over in the barracks or something works just fine.
32) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked? His worst experience might have been the time when the battle dome went crazy. It didn't do much to him personally, but his chain, Humpty Dumpty, made an appearance then and what happened that day has been frustrating him ever since.

8) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: His favorite food is steak. :'| I like to think that everyone takes turns cooking in the house... besides Ilia. Ilia should never be allowed to cook.
9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: Train and relax!! He likes to help out his friends when he can and household chores are a given, but mostly, he just does whatever he can to pass the time.
10) Their general sense of fashion: He likes clothes that are loose and casual. He usually wears t-shirts and pants, loose-fitting and comfortable. He wears his jacket pretty often, though. It represents the fact that he's part of the Pangalactic Federation, so it's pretty important...!
11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: Aside from training, he doesn't really have any hobbies in Luceti. That doesn't mean he doesn't do anything, though! He tries his hand at a lot of other things he did during his journey on Expel (like reading, writing, drawing), but none of them have really stuck in Luceti.

If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: He has a sword, but he only carries it with him if he's going to the battle dome or if he's going to be far from the village. The sword he carries is called the Godslayer, forged of pure antimatter by Dr. Mirage on Energy Nede. According to her, it's powerful enough to blow a small moon away!
14) Who are their neighbors?: Yukito and Touya in house 60; Donatello, Leonardo, and Robert in house 55. House 58 is empty.
15) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what? His best friends are Leon and Precis. He spends quite a bit of time with them since he lives with them!
16) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: The battle dome, of course! While some people don't enjoy fighting simulations, Claude doesn't particularly care, because that's the kind of technology he's used to.
17) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?: His wings are silver! He pretty much ignores them—while he doesn't make an effort to hide them, he probably doesn't have many complaints, either.
18) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: He's grown a little taller, and his hair's probably gotten longer, too. He probably makes sure to trim his hair every now and then, even if you can't tell the difference. :'|

He misses computers and video games, but there are nice things about Luceti, too, like having clean air to breathe and fresh food for ingredients. He comes from a world where so many things are artificial, so he thinks about things like that!

If so, what are they?: A little bit of everything?! This is Star Ocean, after all. He can cook, he can play the trumpet (though I play with the idea that his music-related skills could still use improving), and he's a hell of a thief!! He can also craft items and customize weapons. They're not things he needs to do often in Luceti, but hey, you never know, right?
27) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti? If so, what are they? Why and how? Nope. He's trying to brush up on some of the skills he picked up in his world, but he hasn't really tried anything new.
28) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting? Claude is the kind of person that wants to be where all the action is, but he doesn't mind fighting offensively or defensively—basically, he goes wherever he needs to go and does what he needs to do. He doesn't like to sit still, though, so going out and fighting is the thing he likes to do most!

It hasn't really had much of an effect on him—he's been lucky enough to have friends in Luceti from the start, so all that really matters to him is keeping them safe.
31) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft? He spends the day taking it easy, but not without checking in on his friends first. Even if there's nothing to talk about (or no one wants to talk), it's good to know where his friends are and how they're doing after something big like that.
32) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked? Hmm, I don't think he's had any particularly good or bad experiences. The Halloween when the moon fell was a bit distressing, but he put on a brave face for that...! Mostly because he didn't want to stress out Leon anymore than he already was, haha. :'|
